Llew was born in Christchurch in 1947 and, sadly, has recently passed. He held his first exhibition in 1971, and went on to hold approximately 50 one-man shows. As one of the most visible Christchurch artists, his work has often caused controversy, but he was proud to have brought the nude to Christchurch. He was an intuitive sculptor who created from the heart and he believed that art should be about beauty: enriching and seductive.
