Amalgamate - Matt Williams and Anna Korver
Sculptors Anna Korver and Matthew Williams are bring their impressive, modern, dramatic and bold new works to the Christchurch arts community in an exhibition running through the month of October 2017.
Matt Williams is a Christchurch based sculptor working in both metal and stone, his passion for architecture and design can clearly be seen in his work. Working with a range of both natural and man-made materials he explores form in its fundamentality, strong lines and sweeping curves create a mesmerising quality, the movement is dynamic and the expression is clear.
Anna Korver is an established New Zealand artist with a BFA in sculpture from the University of Canterbury. Korver works nationally and internationally, exhibiting, attending symposiums and completing commissions. Korver's new works continue themes of the female form and identity, are autobiographical, and use the female figure to communicate her experiences.
